Water Works Blog Posts
Sometimes, you just have to wonder, “What were they thinking?”
That’s what our amazing Drain Cleaning techs thought when they saw this problem…and solved some major problems for our Customers!!
Pictured is part of a cable with a double blade on the end, hooked to our retriever. This cable and blade were left in a customer’s sewer line by another plumbing company. Their cable broke off in the line…so they just left it there.
The customer has had problems with the sewer line ever since. But Treasure Valley Plumbing and Drain Service came to the rescue, retrieved the cable, and saved the customer from putting in a new sewer line and septic system for approx. $5000-$6000.
Way to go, guys!!

Recently, one of our great Drain Cleaning teams went out on a Hydro-Jetter call for a Pivot Sprinkler system that a local Dairy uses to spread manure on their fields.
The piping had plugged up, so we ran the Hydro-Jetter through the 1200 feet of sprinkler pipe to clean it out and get it flowing again.
Another TVPD success story for our customers. 🙂
Do you have a clogged pivot sprinkler system and can’t get to the clog? Give us a call and we can get jet that clog out for you.Read More

Plumbing Repairs Should be Left to the Plumbers…Just Sayin’
Our plumbing technicians come across some very interesting fixes sometimes that homeowners have done to repair a leaking pipe from a water heater.
- One homeowner, must have been an electrician, tried to fix a leak with Electrical Tape wrapped around a pipe coming from the Water Heater, which is very HOT water.
- Another homeowner, this time they must have been a Doctor, tried to fix his leaking hot water pipe by putting a CAST on it.
Of course, neither fix held, especially when it is HOT water, but our professional plumbing technicians were able to remove the leaky pipes and make the proper pipe repairs.
- We also had one of our customers tell us he tried to fix a leaky pipe by wrapping it with Rubber Tubing, until he could get the plumber there. He is a Veterinarian.
If you want it done right and not just a temporary fix, contact Treasure Valley Plumbing & Drain Services. And we promise…we won’t try to be electricians, doctors, or veterinarians.
Finding an Old Septic Tank is Quick Work for Our Plumbing Experts
Last week, we received a call to a job to locate a septic tank to an old house bought as a rental.
The customers had called two other plumbing companies in the valley, who spent a total of eight hours searching for this tank to no avail. One company even told the customer if he sent his camera head down the sewer line and lost it, he would charge the customers $3000.
Located the Septic Tank in Just Minutes
The customers finally called Treasure Valley Plumbing & Drain Service out to the job and it took Chad just six minutes to locate the septic tank with one of our SuperCams, at a fraction of the cost they had been quoted by the other companies.
At Treasure Valley Plumbing & Drain Service, we have trained, professional plumbers and drain cleaners who KNOW what we are doing and how to use the equipment properly to get the job done…in a timely manner and at a fair price.

SEWER CAMERAS TO THE RESCUE
Our New Ridgid Sewer Cameras have some very special capabilities. Our large machine has the ability to see down a 2 1/2″ – 6″ sewer pipe to locate the sewer or sewer problems.
Cameras Have Many Uses
The cameras can also be used to locate other things such as: a plug in a Central Vacuum System, or down a well casing, or a heating vent, or anything that has piping. Our small cameras can go through piping as small as 3/4″ water lines.
A few years ago, the same sewer camera system was used to locate people in a collapsed mine, it was sent down one of the vents. It’s a very versatile machine that can see behind walls and in very small, tight places we otherwise cannot reach or see.
You Lost It Down “There”? We Can Find It!
We have found cell phones and even a diamond engagement ring down a sewer line.
If you have something you need to find in a very difficult place, give us a call, and we will find it and be able to retrieve it with the least amount of damage to your property.Read More
Finding a Broken Expansion Plug in a Sewer Line…in a Concrete Floor
Last week, Chad and Travis were called on a job to get an expansion plug out of a sewer line that was under a concrete floor. The plug had broke and went down the sewer line, causing the line to back up.
Chad and Travis put one of our sewer cameras down the line to locate the plug. Once it was located, they put the drain cable down the line and watched on the camera as the sewer cable pushed the plug further down the sewer line to a location outside of the building. Once the plug as pushed outside, they dug up the line where they had pushed the plug, opened the line and pulled out the expansion plug. Then they repaired the sewer line and covered it up again, saving the business from cutting up the concrete floor to find the plug.
Chad is an amazing Drain Cleaner….the Best in the Valley. Our Drain Cleaners are Masters in their profession.
IF your sewer line keeps backing up and you don’t know why, give TVPD a call and we will solve the problem.Read More
